PHL Officials Join Courtesy Call on Fujairah Ruler

22 November 2017 ABU DHABI — On behalf of the Philippine Ambassador to the UAE Constancio R. Vingno, Jr., Third Secretary and Vice Consul Rowena Pangilinan Daquipil paid a courtesy call on His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Ruler of Fujairah and Supreme Council member, at the Palace of His Highness Sheikh Hamad on November 08. Third Secretary and Vice Consul Marianne Bringas, representing the Philippine Consulate General in Dubai also called on His Highness Sheikh Hamad.
The meeting was part of the activity of the ASEAN Committee in Abu Dhabi (ACAD), composed of Heads of ASEAN Missions in the UAE representing Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam to cultivate relations with all Emirates of the U.A.E.
After the courtesy call, the ACAD met with officials of the Fujairah Government led by H.E. Mohammed Bin Majed Al Aleeli, Director General of the Department of Industry and Economy and discussed possible areas of cooperation.
The delegation also visited the Fujairah Port, one of the biggest and busiest in the world, Fujairah Oil Tanker Terminal, and Fujairah Free Zone Area. The group also had a chance to visit cultural and historical sites such as the Sheikh Zayed Mosque, the second biggest mosque after the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi, and Fujairah Fort, probably the oldest Fort in the whole of UAE.
