PHL-Bound Luxury Cruise Ship Debuts in HK

22 November 2017 MANILA — The Philippine Consulate General, represented by Acting Head of Post Roderico C. Atienza, attended the debut and christening of “World Dream” at the Kai Tak Cruise Terminal on November 17.
World Dream is the latest luxury cruise ship under the Dream Cruises brand, a subsidiary of Genting HK. It will offer 5-day cruise packages that will include stopovers in Manila and Boracay.
The World Dream launch was opened by Tan Sri Lim Kok Thay, chairman and CEO of Genting Group. Guest of honor, Hong Kong Chief Executive Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor, said in her speech that the World Dream launch is the first mega-cruise ship christening held in Hong Kong – a timely occasion given Hong Kong is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year.
Other guests included Hong Kong Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development Edward Yau Tang-wah, Hong Kong Commissioner for Tourism Kathy Chu and Dr. Peter Lam Kin-ngok, Chairman of the Hong Kong Tourism Board. Puan Sri Cecilia Lim, spouse of Tan Sri Lim, was named godmother of World Dream.
A VIP tour was also conducted by World Dream butlers who presented the cruise ship’s luxurious restaurants, rooms and entertainment areas. END
