27 November 2013 -  Filipino designer, John Paras presented his autum line “Angels and Attractions” at the Bangkok International Fashion Week (BIFW) on November 9 at the Siam Paragon Mall.


BIFW featured nine designers and brands from November 7 to 10. The theme for BIFW’s seventh year is “The Future is Asia” in anticipation of the ASEAN Economic Community inauguration in 2015.  The show was established to create a platform to present emerging talents and promote cultural exchange through fashion design.

Philippine Ambassador to Thailand Jocelyn Batoon-Garcia and several Filipinos in the fashion industry attended to support Mr. Paras who was  the only Filipino designer, and one of only three international designers invited to present his designs with established Thai designers and the winners of the Harper Bazaar’s Asia New Generation Award.


Mr. Paras’ contemporary designs were inspired by the art of Filipino National Artist in Visual Arts Hernando R. Ocampo. END
