Visit of the League of Vice Governors of the Philippines (LVGP) in The Hague
Philippine Ambassador Ledda welcomes the visiting 35-member delegation of the League of Vice Governors of the Philippines (LVGP) led by Isabela Vice-Governor Antonio T. Albano and Oriental Mindoro Vice Governor Humerlito A. Dolor, to the Philippine Embassy in The Hague.
29 November 2017 HAGUE — The League of Vice Governors of the Philippines (LVGP) led by Isabela Vice-Governor Antonio T. Albano, National President and Oriental Mindoro Vice Governor Humerlito A. Dolor, Chairman of the Board of LGVP, visited the Philippine Embassy in The Hague on November 20 at the sidelines of the group’s Foreign Academic Visit on Planning and Governance at the Erasmus University in Rotterdam from November 20 to 24.
In furtherance of Post’s economic diplomacy agenda and LVGP’s interest to explore the potentials of Dutch investors in their respective provinces, The Hague PE organized an afternoon of discussion between the visiting PH provincial officials and experts from the Netherlands Entreprise Agency (RVO, Rijksdienst voor Ondernemend Nederland) and a Dutch sales distributor and consultant in agriculture. RVO’s Mr. Paul Overgoor, International Project Manager, Ms. Linda Reijers, Business Development Coach for the Philippines, Indonesia and Australia Adviser Demonstration projects presented the agency’s relevant private sector development instruments available for PH and an overview of sectors in PH in which Dutch private sector has been showing interest in the region.
Ms. Maaike Groot, Manager Public Affairs of the EAST-WEST SEED discussed the success of its agricultural production in the country. The 35-member LVGP, for its part, presented LVGP's mission and vision to establish strong linkages and networks with national and international institutions.
An active interaction followed the presentations during which possibilities of partnerships in post-harvest facilities, ship building, water infrastructure and agriculture were taken up. Ambassador Jaime Victor B. Ledda welcomed the LVGP delegation and the Dutch stakeholders and took note of the prospective follow-through actions from the said visit, including a possible visit by concerned Dutch stakeholders to any of the provinces represented at the meeting.
The Ambassador also hosted a Filipino dinner for the visiting PH provincial officials. END
