Philippine Consulate General Holds Fifth and Final Consular Mission to Saipan for 2017

A total of 223 passport applicants were processed while 179 new voters were registered during the three- day mission in Saipan.

29 November 2017 AGANA – The Philippine Consulate General in Agana, Guam successfully completed its fifth and final consular outreach mission for 2017 in Saipan, Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI). The consular outreach mission, which was held at the Pedro P. Tenorio Multi-Purpose Center in Susupe on November  14 to 16, processed a total of 244 consular transactions, including 223 ePassport renewals.

The consular team processed a total of 223 passport applications, 4 replacement passports, 1 travel document, 6 extensions of validity, 2 petitions for dual citizenship, 1 affidavit, and 2 reports of marriage. For the mobile voter registration, a total of 179 citizens were registered as new voters for the 2019 elections in Saipan.

The consular team was once again provided with full support by Consul Glicerio D. Arago a.h. and a corps of Filipino volunteers. END

A total of 179 new voters were registered in Saipan, representing 89.5% of projected new registrants for this mobile registration activity.

Consul Mark Francis C. Hamoy administers the oath to three Filipino-Americans based in Saipan, Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, in compliance with the requirements under R.A. 9225, also known as the Dual Citizenship Law. Their oath-taking, which was held during the fifth and final consular outreach mission for 2017 to Saipan, is the final step required for them to have their rights as Filipino citizens fully restored under the said law.
