PHL Ambassador Meets with Top Government Official in Karachi

Ambassador Daniel R. Espiritu briefs the Governor of Sindh Mohammad Zubair Umar on Philippine-Pakistan trade and investment opportunities

29 November 2017 KARACHI – Philippine Ambassador to Pakistan Daniel Ramos Espiritu called on the Governor of Sindh Mohammad Zubair Umar at the Sindh Governor House in Karachi on November 22.

During the call, Ambassador Espiritu highlighted the growing bilateral cooperation between the Philippines and Pakistan and briefed the governor on trade and investment opportunities under the Duterte’s Administration.

For his part, Governor Umar noted the recent visit of Philippine officials from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and encouraged future visits of Philippine officials and business leaders to spur further economic cooperation.

Both officials welcomed the increasing bilateral economic cooperation between the two countries.

The call was also attended by the Philippine Honorary Consul General in Karachi Dr. Imran Y. Muhammad, Third Secretary and Vice Consul Anwar M. Ito, Economic officer and assistant Maria Dolores C. Sales and Sumaira Bibi, members of the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) and prominent members of the Filipino Community in Karachi.

The Governor of Sindh is the appointed Head of State of the provincial government in Sindh, home to Pakistan's largest city and financial hub, Karachi. END
