PHL Ambassador Participates in the Conference Organized by the All Pakistan Business Forum

07 December 2017 ISLAMABAD – Ambassador Daniel R. Espiritu was invited as a panelist at a conference entitled, “Pakistan at Crossroads: Economy, Skilled Workforce Development and Country Narrative”, held at the Marriott Hotel on December 04.
The conference was organized by the All Pakistan Business Forum (APBF), an organization formed in November 2011 with the aim of bringing on a united platform, Pakistani business leaders, social organizations, media, chambers of commerce, and associations.
Ambassador Espiritu who was invited to speak on the module, Skilled Workforce Development, provided a brief backgrounder on the development of education in the Philippines and the progress in the Philippines’ technical and vocational education (TVET) initiatives including mid-level skills projects. He also made a brief discussion on the significant programs initiated by the Philippine Department of Education (DepEd), Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) in the country’s human resource development.
The conference was attended by around 150 guests comprising of high-ranking bureaucrats, officials of chambers of commerce and industry, members of the civil societies and international non-governmental organizations in Pakistan.
Aside from Ambassador Espiritu, other members of the diplomatic corps attended the event include the ambassadors of the European Union, Italy, Germany, Egypt, Spain, Austria, Romania, the Economic Counselor of the US Embassy and Senior Programme Officer of the Netherlands Embassy. END
