08 December 2017 DUBAI – The Philippine Consulate General in Dubai, the Filipino Ladies of Dubai, POLO Dubai, and the FilClub of Dubai and the Northern Emirates led the UAE Human Flag Formation in celebration of UAE National Day last December 02.
Over 150 Consulate personnel, their spouses, and community leaders and members formed the UAE flag along with its colors as a way of expressing the gratitude and thanks of the Filipino people to the UAE and the Emiratis for allowing them to be a part of the diverse UAE family. Some 200 ethnicities and nationalities reside in the UAE with Filipinos as one of the most populous along with the Indians, local Emiratis, and Pakistanis.
Consul General Paul Raymund Cortes said that the flag formation was the first of its kind by any Filipino community in the UAE and is a symbol of the appreciation and their hope that the UAE continues to be a hospitable environment for Filipinos to achieve their fullest potentials through the economic and social opportunities the country offers.
