Philippine Ladies Circle – Abu Dhabi Holds Photo Exhibit and Talks About Elimination of Violence Against Women

Vingno Jr. and Madame Yoko Ramos-Vingno, Chair of the Philippine Ladies Circle Abu Dhabi and the ASEAN Ladies Circle Abu Dhabi, are joined by resource speakers and featured photographers at a “Photo Exhibit and Talk about Elimination of Violence Against Women”
08 December 2017 ABU DHABI — In observance of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, the Philippine Ladies Circle Abu Dhabi, in collaboration with Timeless Elegance Event Management, held a photo exhibit and talks dubbed “Orange the World: A Photo Exhibit and Talk about Elimination of Violence Against Women” at the Dusit Thani Hotel, Abu Dhabi on November 26.
Madame Yoko Ramos-Vingno, Chair of the Philippine Ladies Circle Abu Dhabi and the ASEAN Ladies’ Circle – Abu Dhabi, and Spouse of the Philippine Ambassador to the UAE, delivered the Welcome Remarks. “Tonight, we celebrate the beauty and challenges of womanhood as seen through the various photos by our artists-friends, as well as talks by empowered and accomplished women here in Abu Dhabi. It is hoped that through awareness, we would be able to find ways to effectively combat violence against women,” she said.
Displayed in the venue are works of three featured photographers, namely, Madame Mandisa Baptiste Mauring, Spouse of the UNDP Representative to the UAE; Will Dy, high fashion photographer and fashion designer; and Brian Carl Campos, Filipino artist and photographer.
Resource speakers talked about issues that are relevant in preventing and combating violence against women, namely, Madame Eugenia Lucio, Spouse of the Ambassador of Mozambique; Madame Mala Prakash, Spouse of the Ambassador of Fiji; Madame Britt Spyrou, Spouse of the Ambassador of Australia; and Madame Mandisa Baptiste Mauring.
The messages of Madame Bozena Rostek, Spouse of the Ambassador of Poland, and Madame Nguyen Thu Huong, Spouse of the Ambassador of Vietnam, were read by Madame Kulpan Lama Sharif, Spouse of the Ambassador of Kazakhstan.
Madame Vingno expressed her gratitude to Timeless Elegance Event Management, the Philippine Embassy headed by Ambassador Constancio R. Vingno Jr., fellow Spouses of Ambassadors in the UAE, Honorary Members of the Philippine Ladies Circle, Filipino artists, Niche Modeling Agency, and other special guests.
November 25 has been designated as the United Nations’ Orange Day or the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. The commemoration of Orange Day aims to bring awareness on violence against women and highlight the need to report it. END
