Consulate representatives also distributed information kits provided by the Board of Investments (BOI) on doing business in the Philippines at the inaugural SmartBiz Expo 2017, in line with its mission of promoting the best of the country.

This year’s SmartBiz Expo featured more than 500 exhibitors from 43 countries and regions. The expo aimed to enhance SMEs' competitiveness and encourage them to explore technology and innovations.

During one of the Expo talk sessions, Presidential Adviser on Investments, Atty. Antonio A. Cablitas, shared his insights on the growing business opportunities in the Philippines and enticed more foreign entrepreneurs to invest in the Philippines.

Back-to-back with the SmartBiz Expo was the Hong Kong International Franchising Show, which gathered more than 130 exhibitors promoting local and foreign franchise opportunities, as well as consulting and supporting services.

Philippine Franchise Association (PFA) promoted franchising opportunities for well-known brands such as Jollibee, Max’s Restaurant, Potato Corner, Bench, Crystal Clear water and Mr. Quickie. PFA was represented by Ms. Jen Infante, Membership Officer, and Ms. Ivy Buenaventura, Graphic/Web Designer, during the expo.

To note, Jollibee and Potato Corner are fast growing franchises in Hong Kong.
