20 December 2017 AGANA — Philippine Consul General to Guam Marciano R. de Borja graced the 35^th Anniversary & Induction Ceremony of the Filipino-American Presidents Club of Guam (FAPCG) at the Sheraton Laguna Guam Resort on December 16. 

Consul General de Borja administered the oath of office of the FAPCG’s 2018-2019 officers and board of governors and advisers led by President Sabina Tamondong.  In his message, the Consul General commended the FAPCG for its initiatives and activities, notably its support of the Eskwelahang Munti ng Guam which holds Philippine culture and language classes at the Philippine Consulate General.  The Consul General also asked the leaders of the various Filipino community organizations to bear in mind in carrying out their duties the lessons that can be learned from the Philippines’ history of magnanimity, compassion, and assistance towards those who sought refuge in the country.

The FAPCG, composed of past and present presidents and vice-presidents of different Filipino-American ethnic and international organizations, was chartered in 1996 with the purpose of fostering unity among members and providing socio-civic, spiritual and humanitarian support to the community.  END
