Consulate General in New York Expands Contacts in Pennsylvania

NY PENNSYLVANIA

22 December 2017 NEW YORK — The Philippine Consulate General in New York took steps to further expand and enhance its networks in Pennsylvania by joining the Consular Corps Association of Philadelphia (CCAP) starting January 2018. The CCAP is the oldest consular organization in the US.

Philippine Consul General Theresa Dizon-De Vega met with Mr. Peter S. Longsreth, President of CCAP and current Honorary Consul General of Uruguay. Consul General De Vega discussed the membership of the Philippines in the association starting in 2018 and said the Consulate looks forward to a more active partnership with the Consular Corps Association.

Mr. Longstreth discussed the regular activities of the CCAP as well as the work it undertakes in facilitating events in Pennsylvania with the association’s local contacts.

At present there are 51 member countries in the CCAP some of which represented by career Consulates while a majority are based in New York or New Jersey with consular jurisdiction over Pennsylvania. CCAP organizes talks and briefings by Pennsylvania officials, regular members’ hip meetings, commemorative celebrations, trade, and investment events. END
