Filipino Community Organizes Fun Run “Takbo Handog Sa Qatar” as Part of Qatar National Day Celebration

27 December 2017 DOHA – A fun run activity titled “Takbo Handog sa Qatar” or Run for Qatar, was held at the Al Rayyan Sports Complex on December 18. The event, organized by the United Filipino Organizations in Qatar (UFOQ), was one of the many activities held in celebration of Qatar National Day 2017 before the grand parade at the waterfront promenade of the Doha Corniche.

The 2km fun run was attended by around 3,000 professional and leisure runners of all ages and various nationalities. Philippine Embassy representatives headed by Vice Consul Kristine Bautista joined the activity. Prizes were awarded to the top three finishers of three categories: women’s, men’s and junior’s category.

The fun run was followed by a fun-filled program which saw the participation of various groups and schools. The school shows were followed by a cultural extravaganza featuring groups from various expatriate communities. END
