11 January 2018 RIYADH – Philippine Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Atty. Adnan V. Alonto, paid courtesy calls on H.E. Ambassador Hoang Khac Viet of Vietnam on 17 December 2017, H.E. Ambassador Zainol Rahim Zainuddin of Malaysia on 03 January 2018, and H.E. Ambassador Datu Yusuf Ismael of Brunei on 04 January 2018, to continue his engagement with ASEAN representatives to the Kingdom.

Citing the rising significance of regional groupings such as ASEAN, Ambassador Alonto expressed his eagerness to build and strengthen official as well as personal relationships with his ASEAN counterparts in Saudi Arabia.

During his calls, Ambassador Alonto exchanged views with his counterparts on issues of mutual interest.  Ambassador Alonto proposed holding regular discussions among ASEAN diplomats to identify common challenges and opportunities encountered in the course of their duties in the Kingdom.

Ambassador Alonto was accompanied during his meetings by Third Secretary and Vice Consul Noel L. Rodriguez and Attache Faisal Tamano. END
