PHL Embassy Repatriates 48 Distressed OFWs in Abu Dhabi

16 January 2018 ABU DHABI — Philippine Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates Constancio R. Vingno Jr. met the 48 victims of human trafficking before their repatriation on 11 January 2018 at the Philippine Embassy, Abu Dhabi.  The above Overseas Filipino Workers mostly were tourist visa holders when they entered United Arab Emirates. They were victims of illegal recruiters, or left the employ of their sponsors/agencies due to maltreatment, overwork and non-payment of salaries. They arrived at Terminal 1 of Ninoy Aquino International Airport on 12 January 2018 at 08:50 a.m.
