PHL Ambassador Ends Term as Chair of ASEAN Committee in Muscat

12 January 2018 MUSCAT — Philippine Ambassador to Oman Narciso T. Castañeda formally ended his term as Chair of the ASEAN Committee in Muscat (ACM), for the period of June to December 2017, and turned over the Chairship to Brunei Darussalam Ambassador Sulaini Said — in a hand-over ceremony held during the 29th ACM Meeting on 08 January at Crowne Plaza Muscat.
During the presentation of his turn over report as Chair, Ambassador Castañeda highlighted his achievements, particularly the successful holding of the Diplomatic Reception to mark the 50th Anniversary of ASEAN, and the ACM’s trip to the Duqm Special Economic Zone. He expressed his appreciation for the support of the ACM members for the programs undertaken during his term, and rallied them to sustain the achievements made by the ACM.
The Philippine Embassy is a member of the ACM, along with the Embassies of Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and the Consulate General of Singapore. END
