PHL Consulate General in Agana Conducts Consular Outreach in Chuuk and Pohnpei, Micronesia

16 January 2018 AGANA – The Philippine Consulate General in Agana, Guam successfully completed its first consular outreach mission for 2018 in Chuuk and Pohnpei in Federated States of Micronesia, rendering a total of 323 consular services and registering 246 overseas voting (OV) registrants.

The Consular Team first visited Chuuk on 06-07 January, and held consular services delivery at the Conference Room of Truk Stop Hotel. The team delivered 124 consular services and 92 OV registration. It then flew to Pohnpei, where it processed 199 consular transactions and 154 OV registration services from 09-11 January at Mangrove Hotel.

Vice Consul Alex O. Vallespin headed the Team composed of Mr. Jermyn Julius R. Checa (Passport Officer), Ms. Maria Liza A. Manarin (Collecting Officer), and Mr. Ferdinand E. Villamor (VRM Operator).

The Filipino community organizations in Chuuk and Pohnpei, namely Kapatiran ng mga Pilipino sa Isla ng Truk (KAPIT) and United Filipino Community in Pohnpei (UFCP), assisted and provided support to the Consular Team. Vice Consul Vallespin likewise administered the oath of office of the newly-elected officers of both organizations. END
