PHL Embassy in Riyadh Rolls-Out Philippine Passport with 10-Year Validity

16 January 2017 RIYADH – The Philippine Embassy in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has rolled-out the upgraded Philippine Passport with a 10-year validity period on January 03.
Similarly, Filipinos in Al Jouf, Ara and other cities in the Northern Region have also availed themselves of the 10-year passport during the conduct of the 1st Embassy on Wheels held in Al Jouf on 5-6 January 2018.
Under Republic Act 10928, which was signed by President Rodrigo Duterte on 2 August 2017, regular/ordinary passports will have a validity of ten (10) years for Filipino citizens who are eighteen (18) years old and above, and five (5) years for those who are below eighteen (18) years old.
Passports with ten-year (10) and five-year (5) validity will feature the same Philippine electronic passport booklets without any change in design, security features, and number of pages. Also, there is no increase in passport application fees.
Philippine passports issued prior to 1 January 2018, which have a five (5)-year validity, shall remain valid until their expiration date. END
