PHL Embassy Attends New Year Reception Hosted by Polish Foreign Undersecretary and Confers with ASEAN Committee in Warsaw Members

22 January 2018 WARSAW — Philippine Embassy officials in Warsaw, namely, Ambassador Patricia Ann Paez and Assistant to the Ambassador for Political Affairs Mr. Ramon Ebalo, attended the New Year reception for the Asia Pacific Group of Ambassadors hosted by Poland’s Foreign Undersecretary of State Hon. Mr. Marek Magierowski at the Asia Pacific Museum in Warsaw on 12 January 2018.

In his brief remarks, Undersecretary Magierowski said that Poland had already conducted bilateral Political Consultations with almost all Asia Pacific countries and vowed to press the foreign ministry to devote greater focus on the Asia Pacific region.

The Philippines and Poland held the latest round of Political Consultations at the Undersecretary level in 2016 in Manila. During the meeting of Philippine Embassy officials with Asia Pacific Director Mr. Pawel Mislewski, the latter conveyed the Polish foreign ministry’s  desire to host another round of such bilateral consultations in Warsaw this year.

Also formally introduced during the event was the new Director of the Asia Pacific Department of the Polish foreign ministry Mr. Mislewski.

The members of the ASEAN Committee in Warsaw (ACW), chaired by Thai envoy H.E. Mrs. Sansanee Sahussarungsi, harnessed the event to hold informal talks about the future activities of the ACW. END
