PHL Embassy in Ottawa Hosts New Year Reception

29 January 2018 OTTAWA – The Philippine Embassy in Ottawa, Canada, let by Ambassador Petronila P. Garcia, hosted a reception at Mindanao Hall of the Chancery to thank individuals and organizations who joined hands with it in its activities and events last year to promote Philippine-Canadian relations and celebrate Philippine culture.

Invited to the the evening cocktails were leaders of the Filipino community, members of the diplomatic corps, and officials from the Canadian government.

In her remarks, Ambassador Garcia noted significant milestones which took place last year, including the Philippine chairmanship of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) as it celebrated its 50th founding anniversary, the 40th anniversary of ASEAN-Canada dialogue relations, and the 150th anniversary of Canadian confederation.
