New Store Chain Stocked with PH Food Products Opens in HK

30 January 2018 HONG KONG – Philippine Consul General in Hong Kong Antonio A. Morales participated in the opening in Wanchai on 25 January of "King of the Sole," a Hong Kong-based distributor of Filipino food products, and the first mainstream chain of stores selling Filipino products to Hongkongers.

“It is high time that Filipino products are marketed to locals and expatriates in Hong Kong because of their excellent quality,” noted Consul General Morales, who was one of the event’s guests of honor.

He was accompanied by Deputy Consul General Roderico C. Atienza, Vice Consul Fatima G. Quintin, Political Officer Luz M. Iglesias and Economic Officer Rosanna M. Sumala at the store opening.

According to Mr. Johnny Hui, Managing Director of High Quality Import Store, owners of "King of the Sole," they plan to open three more stores around Hong Kong this year, and a total of 150 stores in mainland China, Mongolia and Russia by 2020.

Filipino products include Navarro's crab paste, Trans-Ocean condiments such as fish sauce and shrimp paste, Daila organic soaps and cleansers, Castillejo’s fruit jams, Hobe noodles, Lipa's coconut juice, C.O.P. pili nuts, Majic Melt biscuits and Profood dried fruits. END
