Filipina Beauty Wins Miss Belgium 2018 Title

31 January 2018 BRUSSELS — Angeline Flor Pua was crowned Miss Belgium 2018 at the pageant held on 23 January 2018 at Plopsaland Theater in De Panne, Belgium.

Born and raised in Antwerp, Belgium of Filipino parents, the twenty-two-year old beauty queen is the first Filipina beauty to win the Miss Belgium title.

In support of Angeline’s victory, Ms. Darline Devos, the organizer of the Miss Belgium contest, remarked "Angeline was born in Belgium, her parents got to know each other in our country, and in my eyes she is a real Belgian."

Belgium’s State Secretary for Equal Opportunities Zuhal Demir also congratulated Angeline for winning the title saying, "The fact that a girl of Philippine origin has become Miss Belgium shows that our society is warm and open."

Angeline believes that growing up in two different cultures is what made her exceptional. “I am also very proud that I have Filipino roots and that makes me a unique Miss Belgium 2018,” she exclaimed.

The Filipina beauty will represent Belgium in this year’s Miss World pageant. END
