PHL Embassy in Phnom Penh Maps Out 2018 Activities with Filcom Leaders
Philippine Ambassador Christopher B. Montero presides over the meeting with leaders of the Samahan ng mga Pilipino sa Cambodia (SAMAPI).
31 January 2018 PHNOM PENH — In line with its stakeholder engagement activities, the Philippine Embassy in Cambodia held a meeting with the officers of the Samahan ng mga Pilipino sa Cambodia (SAMAPI) on 26 January, and agreed to work towards implementing projects and programs that will benefit the Filipino community in Cambodia.
Philippine Ambassador to Cambodia Christopher B. Montero presided over the meeting and shared information on the Embassy's projects, activities, and programs, including the conduct of tabletop exercises aimed at fine tuning the Embassy's Contingency Plan. Ambassador Montero likewise outlined the Embassy's initiatives to promote Philippine culture, business, and tourism in Cambodia in 2018.
The SAMAPI officers, led by its President, Mr. Joel Dionco, reassured the Embassy of SAMAPI's full support for its activities, and likewise shared its proposed projects for 2018, which includes health and wellness programs, sports competitions, and industry-specific networking. SAMAPI is the only formally-organized grouping of Filipinos in Cambodia,
