PH Consul General Proposes Joint Fight with Canada Vs Human Trafficking

06 February 2018 HONG KONG SAR – Philippine Consul General in Hong Kong Antonio A. Morales expressed his desire to collaborate with the Canadian Consulate General in combatting human trafficking during his courtesy call on Canadian Consul General Jeff Nankivell on 31 January.
Consul General Morales said that one of his top priorities as the head of post of the Philippine Consulate General is to implement initiatives to combat human trafficking, especially those involving Filipino workers in Hong Kong, a number of whom plan to move to Canada to work as caregivers.
Consul General Morales and Consul General Nankivell also discussed issues concerning their respective communities in Hong Kong which hold two of the largest foreign populations in the Territory.
Consul General Morales noted that the Consulate General is exploring the possibility of implementing a passport appointments mobile app for the convenience of the Filipino Community in Hong Kong. END
