PHL Embassy Participates in the Asia-Pacific Food and Crafts Bazaar in Abu Dhabi

Philippine Ambassador to the UAE Constancio R. 08 February 2018 ABU DHABI – The Philippine Embassy in Abu Dhabi, led by Philippine Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates Constancio R. Vingno Jr. and Madame Yoko Ramos-Vingno, Chair of the Philippine Ladies Circle – Abu Dhabi, participated in the Asia-Pacific Food and Crafts Bazaar held on 03 February at the Residence of the Korean Ambassador in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. 

The annual bazaar was organized by the Asian Group of Spouses of Ambassadors in Abu Dhabi and was also participated by other Asian countries, namely, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Brunei Darussalam, China, Fiji, Indonesia, Japan, Kazakhstan, Korea, Malaysia, Pakistan, Singapore, and Thailand.

The bazaar featured food and crafts, as well as cultural costume show and performances by participating Embassies.

The Philippine booth showcased Tinalak bag and shoes and Filipiniana gown by Abu Dhabi-based fashion designers Aldwin Jlo Ornopia and Jose Allen Villena, respectively; hand-made accessories by Third Secretary and Vice Consul Anna Guerra; Philippine fruit exhibit by Ms. Mildred Remo; and Filipino cuisine by Jollibee – Mushrif Mall Branch, Chowking Orient Restaurant, Greg’s Special La Paz Batchoy, and Kainan Filipino Restaurant. Tourism promotional materials were also on display.

During the cultural costume show, Constancio Chase Vingno, son of Ambassador and Madame Vingno, and Nicole Bagsit, Teen Kalayaan 2017 runner-up, walked on stage wearing the Barong Tagalog and Filipiniana Terno.

For the cultural program, students from The Philippine Global School (TPGS) performed the Salakot traditional dance and rendered Filipino songs such as Isang Lahi, Kanta na Pilipinas, and Isang Mundo, Isang Awit.  Students from The Philippine School (TPS) Abu Dhabi performed the Itik-Itik and Subli folk dances.

Ambassador and Madame Vingno expressed their appreciation to the Philippine schools, food and fruit exhibitors, fashion designers, Timeless Elegance Event Management, Embassy officers and staff, and members of the Philippine Ladies Circle – Abu Dhabi for the support and participation in the bazaar.
