08 February 2018 CHICAGO – Officers and staff members of the Philippine Consulate General in Chicago warmly welcomed the arrival of Consul General Gina A. Jamoralin last Wednesday, January 31, from her former post in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Consul General Jamoralin and members of her household were met at O’Hare International Airport.

During a welcome dinner later in the evening tendered by her new official family at a local restaurant famous for the Chicago-style deep-dish pizza, Consul General Jamoralin was formally introduced and gave some remarks.

She thanked everyone for coming out despite the wintry weather to greet her and make her feel the warmth of a Midwestern reception combined with genuine Filipino hospitality.

A career diplomat and economist by training, Consul General Jamoralin likewise said she welcomes the opportunity of working with and leading her new team in Chicago to build on the successes of her predecessor particularly in the areas of economic and cultural diplomacy. END
