13 February 2017 MOSCOW – The Philippine Embassy released the first batch of Philippine electronic passports with ten-year validity this week to the delight of Russia-based Overseas Filipino Workers.
Following the directive of President Rodrigo R. Duterte and Foreign Affairs Secretary Alan Peter S. Cayetano, all passport applications received starting 1 January 2018 will be for the ten-year passports with no change in the application fee.
Ms. Josefina Bito-on Delfin, a Moscow-based household service worker who claimed her passport said, “Wow, thank you po. Malaking kaluwagan po sa amin na sampung taon bago ulit mag-renew ng passport lalo na at wala pong dagdag na bayad.”
