The Philippines Participates in Dubai’s First ASEAN Festival
Consul General Cortes Addresses 1st ASEAN Festival held at Rise Dubai Creek Harbor
14 February 2018 DUBAI – The Philippines participated in the first ever ASEAN Festival held on 9-10 February 2018 at the Rise Dubai Creek Harbor, site of the Dubai Creek Tower. Organized by the ASEAN Business Council Alliance (composed of the Business Councils of the Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and Indonesia), the festival featured ASEAN-themed gastronomical feasts, music, dance, and arts & crafts.
Philippine Consul General in Dubai Paul Raymund Cortes delivered the Welcome Remarks and noted that this was the first ASEAN-themed event open to other ethnicities in the UAE. He said that the festival aimed to bridge the awareness gap of ASEAN and the people of the UAE and hoped to bring the ASEAN culture and spirit to the larger expat community in the country. END
