Film Showing of the Movie “Tuos”

14 February 2018 DAR ES SALAAM - The Philippine Embassy in Nairobi led by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Uriel Norman R. Garibay in coordination with the Filipino community in Tanzania showcase the film “Tuos” at the Century Cinema Oysterbay in Dar Es Salaam on 21 January. The award-wining film directed by Roderick Cabrido and written by Dennis O’Hara centers around the story of two village women; Pinailog, portrayed by film legend Nora Aunor, a binukot or kept maiden and her granddaughter, Dowokan portrayed by Barbie Forteza who is being prepared to take her place but refuse to take the role as the new Binukot. The film showing drew approximately 120 filmgoers mostly from the Filipino community. This is the first of a potential three films that will be shown in Tanzania this year. END
