PHL Embassy in Bangladesh Briefs Bangladesh FilCom on PH’s ASEAN Chairmanship Highlights

21 February 2018 DHAKA — The Philippine Embassy in Dhaka, Bangladesh organized a briefing for the Filipino Community in Bangladesh to discuss the highlights of the Philippines’ Chairmanship of ASEAN in 2017 at the Ascott-The Residence in the Baridhara Diplomatic Zone in Dhaka.

Philippine Ambassador to Bangladesh Vicente Vivencio T. Bandillo briefed leaders and members of the Filipino community (FilCom) in Dhaka on the accomplishments of the Philippines during its chairmanship of ASEAN in 2017. The Ambassador also explained to the FilCom the rationale of the ASEAN 2017 theme, “Partnering for Change, Engaging the World.” The chairmanship’s overarching theme is the achievement of positive change in the lives of people living in ASEAN and strengthening the bloc’s interaction with the international community.

The briefing was held as part of Post’s public diplomacy drive in helping shape responsible opinions on the Philippines and Philippine foreign policy. END
