DOLE/OWWA Augmentation Arrives in Jeddah, Calls On PHL Consul General to Jeddah

The DOLE/OWWA Augmentation Team calling on Consul General Badajos.

21 February 2018 JEDDAH – An Augmentation Team from DOLE and OWWA arrived in Jeddah on 15 February 2018 to attend to the labor concerns of OFWs in the Western Region of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.  Upon their arrival in Jeddah, the team called on Consul General Edgar B. Badajos to inform the latter of the purpose of their mission.

Consul General Badajos welcomed the team and expressed hope that they will stay in Jeddah for as long as necessary to ensure that the concerns of OFWs in the Western Region are fully addressed.

After the brief call on Consul General Badajos, the team immediately went to work and assisted some distressed Filipino workers at the airport on 16 February in time for their repatriation to the Philippines.

The team is composed of Ms. Nadjah Cosain and Mary Annie Tomagan of DOLE; and Messrs. Levin Reynald Gabutan and Lex Pineda and Ms. Marisol Ebron of OWWA. END
