23 February 2018 CHICAGO —Knight Commander of Rizal (KCR Hong Kong, China, and Macau) Sir Enrique Sadiosa visited Chicago on 19 February 2018 to conduct interviews and gather documents and articles related to Dr. Jose Rizal’s travel to the United States which, according to the national hero’s journal, began when the steamer Belgic docked at San Francisco on 28 April 1888. After taking the ferry to Oakland, Dr. Jose Rizal boarded the train and passed by Chicago on 11 May 1888.

Sir Enrique Sadiosa met with his Chicago-based fellow Knights at the Philippine Consulate in Chicago to discuss the highlights and progress of his documentary film project “Dr. Jose Rizal Travels 2020.” The documentary film chronicles Dr. Jose Rizal’s travels abroad. He also interviewed Sir Felix Gonzales, a renowned expert and authority on Dr. Jose Rizal’s journey in the United States, who later accompanied him in retracing the national hero’s trail along the old and original landmarks in Chicago.

KCR Sir Enrique Sadiosa, who is currently based in Hong Kong, is also a radio program host, photojournalist, and publisher.  His documentary film Dr. Jose Rizal Travels 2020 is scheduled to be formally launched in June 2020. END
