PH, Turkey Sign Agreements on Investment Promotion and Agriculture

26 February 2018 ANKARA – The Philippines and Turkey signed two bilateral agreements on agriculture and investment promotion in Ankara, Turkey on 05-06 February, thus marking the historic inaugural Philippines-Turkey Joint Committee for Economic and Technical Cooperation (PH-TR JCETC) a success.
Philippine Ambassador to Turkey, Maria Rowena Mendoza Sanchez and Turkish National Defense Minister Nurretin Canikli signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Between the Government of the Republic of the Philippines and the Government of the Republic of Turkey on Agricultural Cooperation. The MOU aims to strengthen bilateral cooperation in plant production and protection, agricultural research, fisheries, research in related fields and joint ventures between the private sectors, among others.
Undersecretary Ceferino S. Rodolfo, Head of the Philippine Board of Investments (BOI), and Mr. Arda Ermut, President of Turkey’s Prime Ministry Investment Support and Promotion Agency (ISPAT) also signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Board of Investment of the Republic of the Philippines and the Republic of Turkey Prime Ministry Investment Support and Promotion Agency. The MOU aims to strengthen Philippines-Turkey ties through the exchange of best practices and information on investment environment and opportunities. The signing of the MOU was witnessed by Philippine Trade and Industry Secretary Ramon M. Lopez and Turkish National Defense Minister Nurretin Canikli. END
