PHL Consulate General in Dubai Challenges Schools to Raise Competitive Global Filipinos
26 February 2018 DUBAI –Philippine Consul General in Dubai Paul Raymund Cortes urged Philippine Schools in Dubai and the Northern Emirates to continue the vision of raising competitive global Filipinos who are unafraid to take on the challenge of an increasing globalized economy during a speech at the 10th Foundation Anniversary of the Philippine School in Dubai on 23 February.
He reminded the crowd of around 5,000 students, parents, the school administration, and faculty the increasing roles that Filipinos play in the global economic setting and that it was imperative that we, as a society, continue to show the rest of the world what the Filipino heart and soul is made of and what it can achieve.
The Consul General also said that the Government, through the Consulate General, will always support the thrust of Philippine Schools Overseas to raise a generation of Overseas Filipinos who are confident on their heritage and culture and in the skills and expertise that make Filipinos a reputable migrant community all over.
Finally, he added that as the Philippines moves forward making it a more favorable trade, investment, and tourism destination, perhaps this generation of Overseas Filipinos could return to the motherland to further build the various elements of our society for the succeeding generations to come.
