PHL Ambassador to Hungary Presents Her Credentials as Non-Resident Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina

27 February 2018 SARAJEVO – Philippine Ambassador to Hungary Maria Fe T. Pangilinan presented her credentials to the Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina H.E. Dragan Čović as non-resident Ambassador of the Republic of the Philippines to Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) on 20 February 2018.
The ceremony was held at the BiH Presidency building which is across the Ministry of Foreign Affairs building. A meeting between Chairman of the Presidency Čović and Ambassador Pangilinan followed wherein both parties expressed their mutual desire to improve and expand bilateral relations and cooperation. This may start with people-to-people exchanges, political consultations and regular visits of PH government officials to BiH.
H.E. Čović invited Ambassador Pangilinan to visit BiH at least once a year and extended his salutations to President Rodrigo Duterte and to the Filipino people.
H.E. Čović is the Croat member of the 3-member presidency of BiH (1 Bosniak and 1 Croat elected from the Federation of BiH and 1 Serb elected from the Republika Srpska). The presidency chairpersonship rotates every 8 months and resumes where it left off after each general election. The next general election will be held in October 2018.
After her presentation of credentials, Amb. Pangilinan also called on officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH to discuss matters of mutual interest and to explore new avenues for cooperation. END
