PH Ambassador to Kenya Presents Credentials to Burundi President

Nairobi, 28 February 2018 NAIROBI — Philippine Ambassador Uriel Norman R. Garibay presented his credentials to His Excellency Pierre Nkurunziza, President of the Republic of Burundi on February 26.
At the ceremony, Ambassador Garibay presented to President Nkurunziza his Letter of Credence and the Letter of Recall of his predecessor, Ambassador Bayani V. Mangibin. Ambassador Garibay also conveyed the compliments of H.E. President Rodrigo R. Duterte to President Nkurunziza and to the people of Burundi.
Ambassador Garibay remarked that the desire for strengthening the friendship and cooperation between the two countries is made more manifest especially with the formalization of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Philippines and Burundi through a Joint Communiqué on 30 June 2017.
The presentation of credentials was preceded by the presentation of copies of credentials to The Honorable Alain Aimé Nyamitwe, Foreign Minister. Also present during the ceremony were Chief of State Protocol Amabssador Zéphyrin Maniratanga, Chief of State Protocol, Deputy Chief of State Protocol Ambassador Albert Nasasagare and other officials from the Ministry of External Relations and International Cooperation of the Republic of Burundi.
