Philippines Hailed as Top IT-BPM Destination during HIMS Roadshow in New York

01 March 2018 NEW YORK – The Philippines’ status as a top tier destination for IT-BPM services was at the center of discussions at the Healthcare Information Management Services (HIMS) Business Forum at the Kalayaan Hall of the Philippine Center in New York on February 26.
The forum is part of the 2018 HIMS Roadshow with the theme “Unlocking Opportunities. Embracing Innovation” a collaborative project of the Department of Trade and Industry, Board of Investment, Economic Management Bureau, and the Healthcare Information Management Association of the Philippines (HIMAP).
“The Philippines offers high-value services, a young, innovative, and well-educated workforce, and a business-friendly environment for all potential investors and clients”, said Philippine Consul General in New York Theresa Dizon-De Vega in her remarks. She reiterated the Philippine Government’s commitment to support efforts to promote the Philippine IT-BPM industry.
Participants were briefed on the general Philippine Economic landscape by Trade and Industry Undersecretary Nora K. Terrado, who assured guests that Philippine macroeconomic foundations remain solid and that the country is one of the Bright Spots in Asia, the fastest-growing region in the world.
Other key presentations were made by HIMAP President Ms. Cristina Coronel who spoke on developments and innovations in the Philippine HIMS Sector while case study illustrations and testimonials were discussed by other HIMAP member companies.
An open forum moderated by Special Trade Representative Nicanor Bautista followed the presentations while a Networking Session capped the day’s activity. END
