PHL Ambassador Yap Calls on Singapore Foreign Minister
05 March 2018 SINGAPORE – Philippine Ambassador to Singapore Joseph Del Mar Yap called on Singaporean Foreign Minister, Dr. Vivian Balakrishnan, on February 26 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Both sides looked forward to celebrating the 50th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral relations between the Philippines and Singapore next year.
Foreign Minister Balakrishnan acknowledged the very open and candid lines of communication between the two countries and assured his full support for the Philippines.
“The Philippines continues to be open for business for Singapore,” Ambassador Yap said as he highlighted the need to promote more economic opportunities for the Philippines in Singapore.
“The Philippines has a thriving private sector, which combined with its large and young population, make the country well-primed for the digital revolution,” the Foreign Minister replied. END
