05 December 2013 - The Philippine Embassy participated in the First Nigerian International Wine Festival held from November 13 to 16 at the Silverbird Entertainment Center, Abuja.
Third Secretary and Vice Consul Ralf G. Roldan, assisted by Trade and Economic Officer Nadjefah A. Mangondaya installed a booth showcasing Philippine products, wine, tourism and trade and investment. The booth also provided information on the Pag-IBIG Fund, the Overseas Workers’ Welfare Administration (OWWA), the University of the Philippines-Open University (UPOU) and Destilleria Limtuaco and Company, Incorporated. There were 100 CDs and DVDs on the Philippines and 28 trade and investment kits distributed to an estimated 300 visitors of the Philippine booth. Visitors expressed their sympathy to the victims of typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) by writing it on a log book.
In his speech and during his interview with Radio Nigeria, Vice Consul Roldan said the Embassy is thankful to the organizer for the invitation to participate in the maiden session of the event, and he is hopeful that in the next edition of the expo, the Philippines will have an intensified participation in the festival.
