06 March 2018 MOSCOW — The Philippine Embassy in Moscow welcomed the arrival of Commercial Counselor Anne Marie Kristine C. Umali, Foreign Trade Service Officer of the Philippine Department of Trade and Industry on March 05. Ms. Umali represents the first attached Philippine agency to be assigned to the Embassy of the Republic of the Philippines to the Russian Federation since the establishment of diplomatic relations more than 40 years ago.

Philippine Ambassador to Russia Carlos D. Sorreta led in giving Ms. Umali a warm welcome and commemorated her arrival with token gifts from the Embassy. “I am very glad that we finally get to have a Commercial Counselor for the Philippines here in Moscow. Your presence is a strong positive signal of our commitment to further developing our bilateral economic relations. We look forward to working with you and welcome you to the Philippine Embassy,” said the Ambassador.

Commercial Counselor Umali thanked the Ambassador and Embassy officers and staff for the warm reception during the flag-raising ceremony. She stated, “Our relations with Russia are on the upswing. With the help and support of Ambassador Sorreta and the Philippine Embassy, we look forward to increasing Philippines-Russia bilateral trade and investments.” END
