PH Permanent Mission Receives Student Delegates from Manhattan College Representing PH in Model UN

NYPM Manhattan

12 March 2018 NEW YORK – Ambassador Teodoro L. Locsin Jr., Permanent Representative of the Philippines to the United Nations (UN), and Minister Igor G. Bailen, Legal Adviser and Sixth Committee Expert, conducted a “mission briefing” on 28 February to students from Manhattan College who will participate at the Model United Nations or MUN conference in March 2018. The students will act as diplomats from the Philippines. The mission briefing provided the students first-hand experience in interacting with diplomats and allowed them to gain invaluable insights on the topics that they will be debating on and lessons they carry into their conference session. The MUN is an academic simulation of the United Nations where students play the role of delegates from different countries and attempt to solve real world issues with the policies and perspectives of their assigned country.
