12 March 2018 MEXICO – The Philippine Embassy in Mexico took part in the celebration of the 41st International Fair at the Greengates School in Naucalpan, Mexico City on 03 March.

Founded in 1951, Greengates is one of Mexico’s leading international schools, with around 1,100 students hailing from over 50 countries enrolled in all academic levels.  Several countries including the Philippines (represented by the Embassy, its dependents, and members of the Filipino community in Mexico) shared their culture at the fair by sponsoring booths showcasing traditional food and handicrafts.

The program started with an inauguration ceremony, followed by performances from each participating country, showcasing their dances and music.

The Philippines was the first country to perform, with Filipino students Nicole and Dennise Lladones singing “Ikaw” by Yeng Constantino and dancing the ocho-ocho by Bayani Agbayani. This was followed by a parade of flags representing the different countries and students of Greengates School.

The event provided an opportunity for the Philippine Embassy to introduce Filipino culture, food, and tourist destinations to guests at the Philippine booth. END
