19 March 2018 NEW YORK – Philippine Ambassador to the United States (US) Jose Manuel G. Romualdez met with Congressman Joseph Kennedy III at the latter’s Constituency Office in Newton, Massachusetts on March 09.

During a very cordial and lively exchange Ambassador Romualdez and Rep. Kennedy discussed matters of mutual concern in the areas of Philippines-US defense and security relations, recent developments in the Asia-Pacific Region, Counter-Terrorism, Climate Change, the Philippine government’s Anti-Drug campaign, and how to further enhance Philippines-US relations. Both cited the strong people-to-people ties between the Philippines and the U.S.

Ambassador Romualdez extended an invitation to Congressman Kennedy to once again visit the Philippines. The Congressman joined a US Congressional Delegation Visit in February 2014 and had the opportunity to visit the Ambassador’s home province of Leyte after the devastation caused by Typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda).

Congressman Kennedy is currently serving his third term representing the 4th District of Massachusetts. He is the son of former Congressman Joseph Kennedy II, the grandson of the late Senator and former Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy and grand-nephew of the late President John F. Kennedy. END
