Xiamen Launches Belt and Road Southeast Asian Cruise Tour
21 March 2018 XIAMEN — The China International Travel Services-Global (CITS-Beijing) Co., Ltd. and Xiamen Port Holdings Group Co., Ltd. officially launched the 1st “Belt and Road” Southeast Asian cruise tour at the Xiamen International Cruise Home Port on 08 March. The 15-day cruise will sail from Xiamen Port passing through six (6) Southeast Asian countries including the Philippines, Malaysia, Brunei, Singapore, Cambodia and Vietnam.
Consul General Flores highlighted the vital contribution of cruise tourism to the tourism industry of Southeast Asia. The Philippines cruise tourism industry flourished by 2,000% in early 2018, during the 2018 Spring Festival, with Chinese tourists making Southeast Asia a top destination.
Consul General Flores also assured that the Philippines will continue to work with industry partners in China as well as welcome Chinese tourists visiting the Philippines with its renowned hospitality and exciting destinations. END
