DepEd Secretary Leonor Briones Meets with PHL Consulate General Officials and PH Schools of Dubai and Sharjah

22 March 2018 DUBAI - Department of Education Secretary Leonor Briones met with officials of the Philippine Consulate General in Dubai and administrators of the Philippine Schools of Dubai and Sharjah at the Philippine Consulate General on March 18. The Secretary discussed the current challenges in the education system in the Philippines and the role that teachers play in molding the minds of the next generation and preparing them for the 21st century.
The meeting also gave the UAE-based teachers the chance to air some of their concerns faced by their schools, particularly with regard to their school’s curriculum. Department of Education Undersecretary Lorna Dino, a member of the PH delegation who also sits as the chair of the Inter-Agency Committee on Philippine Schools Overseas, discussed those concerns and offered possible solutions which will be taken up in future IACPSO meetings.
