PH Trade and Industry Officials Visits PH Company IMI and Czech Škoda Electric in Pilsen

23 March 2018 PRAGUE — The Philippine Embassy led by Chargé d’affaires, a.i. Juan E. Dayang, Jr., arranged the visit of DTI Undersecretary Rowel Barba and Trade Counsellor Althea Antonio to Pilsen, Czech Republic on March 08, a day after the successful Business Forum was held at the Czech Ministry of Industry and Trade in Prague.
The Philippine delegation visited IMI (Integrated Micro-Electronics) Czech Republic (CZ), an Ayala Corporation affiliate. IMI is a provider of Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) for the automotive and industrial market. IMI CZ is one of the nineteen (19) factories of IMI Inc. across 8 countries
Mr. Eric Clouet, and Ms. Petra Zelenayová, General Manager and Sales Manager of the IMI CZ, respectiviely, made presentations of their company. When IMI CZ announced their company’s expansion this year, Undersecretary Barba informed them of the Czech Republic’s plan to grant additional 1,000 working visas to Filipinos which IMI CZ can tap for their expansion. The delegation assured IMI CZ of their support thru the Philippine Embassy and the office of DTI thru Philippine Trade and Industry Center based in Berlin.
The delegation also visited Škoda Electric A.S., a leading world manufacturer of electric drives and traction motors for trolleybuses, tramways, locomotives, suburban train units, metro, mine cars, among others. The company gave a factory tour presented their current and future projects. Škoda Electric will be visiting Manila in March to present their company’s services.
Chargé d’affaires, a.i. Dayang said that the Business Forum held at the Ministry of Industry and Trade on 7 March 2019, as well as the visit of DTI Undersecretary Barba is aimed to boost the economic diplomacy between two countries, which is celebrating 45 years of diplomatic relations. END
