27 March 2018 OSLO – The Philippine Ambassador to the Kingdom of Norway, Jocelyn Batoon-Garcia, presented her credentials to His Majesty, King Harald V at the Royal Palace, in Oslo, Norway on March 15. She was greeted by Palace Honor Guards, and escorted by the Lord Chamberlain to His Majesty The King’s Office.
During the solemn audience with His Majesty, The King warmly welcomed Ambassador Batoon-Garcia to His Kingdom and wished her a very successful tenure. They had a very engaging exchange on subjects of mutual interest. Ambassador Batoon-Garcia reaffirmed the commitment of the Philippines to strengthen bilateral relations and further areas of cooperation between the Philippines and Norway. This year, Norway and the Philippines will celebrate 70 years of diplomatic relations.
After the Palace ceremony, Ambassador Batoon-Garcia, accompanied by her husband, Ambassador Evan P. Garcia, who is presently the Philippine Permanent Representative to the United Nations and Other International Organizations, in Geneva, proceeded to the vin d’honneur hosted by the Royal Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in honor of the Ambassadors who presented their credentials that day. Minister, Deputy Chief of Mission and Consul General Maria Elena Algabre was also in attendance at the vin d’honneur. END
