Consul General Graces Clan’s Centennial Anniversary in Jinjiang City

28 March 2018 XIAMEN — Consul General Julius Caesar A. Flores was the Guest of Honor at the celebration of Chen (Tan) Clan Centennial Anniversary held in Ke Ren Village, Jinjiang City on February 12.

The event was attended by 800 guests, including those coming from the Philippines. Majority of the village’s 5,000 residents have migrated to the Philippines already.

Mr. Chen aKun Bo, President, Ke Ren Village Association, warmly received Consul General Flores and expressed appreciation for the opportunity to celebrate the milestone event with them.

Consul General Flores conveyed his congratulations and lauded the Chen clan for organizing the milestone event. He also commended the association for institutionalizing not only their kinship ties but as well as the vital link between the Philippines and Fujian, noting that majority of the Filipino-Chinese in the Philippines trace their ancestral roots in Fujian Province.

The invitation was arranged through the Filipino-Chinese General Chamber of Commerce, Inc. (FCGCCI) – Youth Committee, a valuable partner of the Consulate General in its cultural and economic diplomacy thrusts. END
