Filipino Artists Shine in Swan Lake in Kenya

02 April 2018 NAIROBI — The Academy of Dance and Art presented the romantic ballet Swan Lake and featured Filipino artists Aldrian Ocampo and Arnie Umayam at the Kenya National Theatre in Nairobi, Kenya on March 26. The incredible Mr. Ocampo is the Principal Dancer of Les Ballet Grandiva/Ballet Philippines and was invited by Mr. Umayam, a dance instructor at The Academy to take the lead opposite the beautiful and talented Juliet Duckworth.

The grand production was attended by Ambassadors and dignitaries as well as local theater goers which packed the Kenya National Theater. Mr. Ocampo was cast opposite Ms. Duckworth who together performed impeccably the beautiful dances that highlighted the ballet. The production showcased not only Filipino talents but also the performances of the students of The Academy many of which were taught by Mr. Umayam. END
