PHL Ambassador Discusses Plight of Filipinos in France with French Parliamentarians

04 April 2018 PARIS — Philippine Ambassador to France Ma. Theresa P. Lazaro met with members of the French National Assembly to discuss the situation of Filipinos in France and how the draft immigration bill currently being deliberated by the National Assembly will impact the Filipino community on March 27. The French parliamentarians were led by Mr. Bernard Reynès, president of the France-Philippines Friendship group in the French National Assembly.

Ambassador Lazaro underlined the situation of the Filipino community saying "the Filipino community in France are hardworking, law-abiding and contribute to the economic development of France." French law enforcement officials confirmed that Filipinos as a migrant group has a good reputation.

The French parliamentarians were in agreement with the Philippine Ambassador that the working conditions of the Filipino community in France should continue to improve. END
